Richard Willett Photography offers high-quality styled images for outdoor family portraits, businesses, weddings, and events.
Firstly, I love what I do!
I remember borrowing my mum's little Kodak camera to take my first photographs when I was young. My Dad, who also loved photography, insisted that I start with a black and white film roll. With just 12 frames, I clearly remember the anticipation of taking a photo and waiting for it to be developed. Not too long after, I received my very first camera of my own. I took the usual shots of the house, the car, the dog, and the family. Knowing then what I know now, I would have taken many more photographs as they are an excellent reminder of times past.
Fast forward to my teens, my Dad and Mum gave me a secondhand Minolta 7s. It was a range finder camera with a fixed lens. Although it was made before I was born, it was well-constructed and captured a pleasing image with a soft background.
Several cameras later, in 2008, after watching professional photographers, I started developing an intense desire to study this craft and pursue my dreams of becoming a professional photographer.
After completing formal studies, completing both a Certificate IV and a Diploma in Commercial Photoimaging, I launched my family photography business covering New South Wales and beyond.
I love to shoot portraits of families and gain great satisfaction in having happy clients who love my work. I have found that I never stop learning this art form and am still as passionate about getting the perfect image.
Being experienced in weddings, high school formals, birthdays, outdoor family photography sessions, and individual portraits gave me the diversity of experience required to supply my clients' photography needs.
My absolute favourite photography scenario would be outdoor family portraits and landscape imaging.
My reason for this is that in addition to every family being unique, there is something special and challenging about the light conditions of each day. I love trying to catch the interplay between parent and their children and the genuine affection within family relationships.
I am also available for business portraits and commercial photography, where my training comes into play. I always try to place myself in my photography clients' shoes to portray an excellent image for their business.
When not taking photos, I enjoy spending time with my lovely wife and children at the foot of Australia's beautiful Blue Mountains and in the western Sydney region. I don't know who the best photographer in Penrith is; however, I would like to work with you and will do my utmost to give you the desired result.
